Bob Niemeyer for District 35 House of Representatives for the state of Oregon
Fellow Oregonians:

Stop Toll Roads;

Most People do not know that We already pay for Oregon’s roads at the pump. As of January 1, 2024, We will pay 40¢ State and 18¢ Federal tax on each and every gallon put in your car or truck. Most people have no idea because that information is no longer posted on the pump. Also, the State only consumes 1% of the money in the act of collecting the tax. 1% is not bad.

Tolling, however,  will be consuming a minimum of 80% of the money just to collect the tolls. Why bother if so little of the money is left for our roads? Because tolling was never intended to pay for roads, it was intended to pay for increasing the size of government, pay out-of-state tolling unions, and control the population for any number of reasons that the governments may see fit to control our lives.

Tolling is nothing more than a source of money for corruption that is plaguing nearly every aspect of what We-The-People believe that government is should to be doing.

Stop Carbon Tax and Carbon Credits;

A system of paying taxes on the carbon that you consume or put into the air is nothing more than turning the atmosphere into a commodity item. Any item that can be bought, sold, or traded like any other form of stock that has a value based only on what the cost will be if you need to consume energy as part of running a business.

The worst part of a Carbon Tax is that there is no application towards using the revenues for the creation of new energy sources. It is nothing more than a scam to make money for the government to spend on corruption.

Stop Property Tax increases beyond a 3% increase;

On the May Ballot, there was a warning that paying for the Zoo may cause the property taxes to be raised beyond the 3% maximum allowed per year by law and the Constitution. How is this even an issue that requires a warning unless the government has no intention of following the law, let alone the Constitution.

Property taxes should be used for property related government actions. The Police and Fire protection are the most important. There are many other government functions that should be covered, such as how the cities keep track of where utilities are located.
