Public Safety

How to fund the Police

 Bob Niemeyer

 Fellow Oregonians:

Are the People of Tigard safe?

Who, in their right mind, would prevent the laws of the land form being enforced?

Legislation is needed to prevent elected office holders from being able to selectively enforce the law. Down Town Portland could have been avoided if someone hadn’t been able to tell the Police to not enforce the laws. And for those who chose not to prosecute the criminals, it should have been easy to remove them from office and get someone that will do their jobs.

High density housing and Light Rail are lighting a fuse to exploding crime rates. Why build such things that destroy the livability of Tigard? Why build any light rail system if the laws of the land are not going to be enforced. Why build high density housing in Tigard when all it leads to is crime.

The People of Oregon and Tigard want safety and reliable funding for the Police. We need to dedicate our Property Taxes to funding the Police, Fire protection, and such things as County records that help with property related documents.

Property taxes should NOT be spent on Schools. Period!

Dedicating Property taxes will take a Constitutional Amendment and will take away a source of money to spend on what-ever the Legislature wants blow money on. Property taxes will also go down.
